We are families and above all ONE family

It would be impossible to talk about Bordeaux Families without mentioning 1934, the year it all began…

At the time, in response to a time of crisis, 126 winegrowers came together to create a winery in the heart of the Bordeaux vineyards. This passionate commitment, made nearly a century ago, now represents a union of 300 winegrowing families (the result of the merger between the Louis Vallon and Sauveterre-Blasimon-Espiet wineries). For this reason, they chose to rename the company “Bordeaux Families.”

Today, with the merger of the Louis Vallon and Sauveterre-Blasimon-Espiet wineries, the union includes 300 families who identify, above all, as just that—families.

We have preserved our traditions and ancestral know-how as our most precious heritage.

The mission of Bordeaux Families is simple yet comprehensive:
to produce and mature wines from the vineyard to the cellar, and to market these wines.

A land among the most beautiful lands

Our vineyards are located in the heart of the Bordeaux wine region, nestled between the right bank of the Garonne River to the south and the left bank of the Dordogne River to the north.

Thanks to this deep-rooted heritage, this is the realm of Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon, and Muscadelle — grape varieties that are the backbone of our dry and sweet white wines, typical of our beautiful region.

Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon are mainly blended here to craft our red wines, offering remarkable quality.

We have opened ourselves to the rest of the world, proudly sharing our wines and the region that gives birth to them.

Savoir-faire, our expertise

True expertise goes beyond the transmission of unchanging traditional practices.
We embrace them — and continuously innovate. Over time, we have equipped ourselves with tools designed to constantly enhance the quality of our wines, all while honoring… tradition.

Our wines are crafted like a grand organ, with compositions written according to the climate, the seasons, and the harvests — always in close collaboration with our technical team.

Anchored in
deep values

We have proven that solidarity and passion enable us to move from quality to excellence, and create the conditions for building the world of today and, especially, that of tomorrow.

Our values: freedom, courage and solidarity!

Freedom

By mutualizing certain tasks and operations, the winemaker regains the freedom to devote himself to his core business.

On the other hand, freedom allows entrepreneurship, innovation, action and self-building based on individual values and convictions, which are also shared and become collective.

Solidarity

The cooperative model becomes both a proof of intelligence and modernity.

The strength of the Bordeaux Families model (in an agricultural world that is itself suffering) is exemplary. Between trade and war, cooperation is the most effective path to peace and stability.

Courage

The courage to stand up, together, to the hazards of the weather and, sometimes, to hostility and misunderstanding.

Our Châteaux

At Bordeaux Families, we also uphold tradition through a rich heritage of “petits châteaux” spread across the Bordeaux, Bordeaux Supérieur, and Entre-deux-Mers appellations.

Each wine from our châteaux is a true reflection of its terroir, as well as the dedication and passion of the grower behind it.

Primarily composed of red wines, the range is complemented by a selection of dry and sweet white wines, clairet, and rosé. It also includes organic wines and a no-added-sulphites offering.
