It’s impossible to discuss Bordeaux Families without mentioning 1934, the year it all began…
At that time, to face a period of crisis, 126 winegrowers united to create a cellar in the heart of the Bordeaux vineyard. This passionate commitment, made nearly a century ago, now represents a union of 300 winegrower families (a merger of the Louis Vallon and Sauveterre-Blasimon-Espiet cellars). For this reason, they chose to rename the company “Bordeaux Families”.
Like grapes in the same cluster.
The majority of Bordeaux Families‘ vineyards are located in the heart of the Bordeaux wine region, nestled between the right bank of the Garonne River to the south and the left bank of the Dordogne River to the north
With 690 hectares cultivated organically and in conversion, we are introducing new practices to the vineyard. This allows us to further our eco-responsible approaches. We have an ambitious and realistic plan for organic farming conversion: 1,000 hectares over 5 years, representing 20% of the union’s total production as a first step.
Our wines are crafted like a grand organ, with compositions written according to the climate, seasons, and harvests, in constant collaboration with our technical team.
